Trigger Finger

Locking or catching of a finger is often due to tendinosis or thickening of the tendon as it slides in the tendon sheath. Trigger finger is a mechanical blocking of the tendon and may be treated with injection in the early stages or surgery in the later stages. Trigger finger is best treated early with activity modification or injection. In refractory cases, surgical release of the tendon sheath may be considered.
