Dr. Plaster was born and raised in Tulsa. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, where he met his wife.
His undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering (with distinction) directed him to the mechanical principles of orthopedics, specifically in the specialty of hip and knee reconstruction. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque, where he was involved with several research and textbook publications.
During residency, he and his wife had their set of twins, who are his pride and joy. He completed his Adult Reconstruction fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specializing in muscle sparing direct anterior hip replacements, state-of-the-art robotic hip and knee replacements, and complex hip and knee revisions.
Honors include EPIC Scholar (Empowering Patients through Interprofessional Collaboration) and Ambassador at Students Today Alumni Tomorrow at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
Dr. Plaster has contributed research to a number of publications, such as Prophylactic Fixation and Arthroscopic Bone Grafting of Large Femoral Neck Cyst During Hip Labral Repair and Femoral Osteochondroplasty.
His passion is rooted in giving patients their lives back through cutting edge technology and evidence based joint replacement surgery. He believes in providing patient specific care with efficient, cost effective treatments.
Dr. Plaster performs precision robotic hip and knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, and complex hip and knee revisions. He is fellowship trained in joint replacement.
